Enhanced Diagnostics
GILUPI CellCollector® Platform
All people are unique and very individual – like their diseases. Specific diagnostic procedures are therefore urgently needed to enable enhanced and individual treatments, so-called personalized medicine.
The goal of GILUPI is to develop a portfolio of medical devices and diagnostic services that enable the concept of personalized medicine. The basis for this is our technology platform – the GILUPI CellCollector®. This technology is already approved for applications in oncological diagnostics, certified and tested in more than 14,000 applications.
Precision Medicine
The variability of tumors leads to strong differences in the respective response to therapy or treatment of cancer.
Liquid Biopsy
While conventional biopsies are obtained from solid tissue, the sampling of circulating DNA, RNA or tumor cells from the blood is known as a so-called “liquid biopsy”.
In vivo vs. in vitro
The GILUPI CellCollector® is the only method that enriches circulating tumor cells directly from the bloodstream, i.e. in vivo. The quantitative advantage results in significantly higher isolation rates, which improve diagnostics.
Circulating Tumor Cells
The spread of invasive tumor cells from the primary tumor and the development of distant metastases are ultimately the reason of cancer deaths.
Technological Progress
For enhanced applications while fighting against cancer GILUPI has translated its patent-protected technology into a pipeline of medical products currently focused on the detection and isolation of specific cells in oncology.
Our ServicesDiagnostic Evaluation
Characterization of enriched CTCs by Immunofluorescence Microscopy
The diagnostic evaluation of oncological samples can be carried out, for example, using microscopic methods such as immunofluorescence microscopy. This is a powerful method for determining the so-called expression (presence) and local determination of proteins in a cell. For this purpose, fluorescently labeled antibodies are used that bind to specific proteins/markers and make these structures visible under the microscope through special excitation with light. Thus, individual cells can be characterized and a statement about the distribution of certain properties can be made.
